Neil Young has not been shy in voicing his opinions of the Trump administration in the past, but last week, he took it to a whole other level. Last week, Young released the lyrics and audio for his latest song, “Big Crime,” which, while it doesn’t mention the president by name, leaves little doubt as to the song’s subject.  There is also a video embedded on the lyrics page of Neil and his band performing the song during a soundcheck. Reports indicate that the song has been added to their tour rotation, and today (9/4/2025), he released a single featuring the song.

Young has dual Canadian and US citizenship and, in the past, commented on how he might have trouble entering the US based on his earlier remarks. This song will undoubtedly add to the concerns due to its confrontational nature.
